Although many American cities beckon us, Washington DC stands out as a huge source of inspiration for us, French photographers living in the US.
Leaving behind Paris and its iconic monuments, we thought we were done with the gilding, moldings, towering ceilings, paintings, and baroque or Renaissance furniture.
While there are charming gems scattered across the United States, Washington DC almost makes us feel like we're in France. European-style homes are plentiful here, such as "the Meridian House" or "Perry Belmont House," some even proudly displaying the tricolor flag, like Larz Anderson House.
In short, Washington DC boasts numerous historical sites, luxury hotels, and chic, elegant wedding venues that inspire us to capture photos that are as remarkable as they are timeless.
Among our favorites (and we'll continue to add to this list) is the St. Regis hotel, where we were particularly impressed by the lobby, bar, and wedding reception courtyard.
Larz Anderson House, hosting a floral art exhibition that day, offers interior decoration that is breathtaking, reminiscent of the most beautiful French castles.
